Bruce Rubin, CPIM, MBA

Bruce has over thirty years experience in industry for medium sized consumer products companies. Bruce’s experience and background provides him with the ability to analyze problems quickly and come up with solutions. The word NO is not part of his vocabulary when it comes to solving a problem. He brings a "can do" approach to all issues and provides solutions that work and are typically easy to implement.

Bruce’s focus has been in the areas of:

Global Sourcing

Bruce’s global sourcing background began in 1989 with travel to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Israel, Germany, Belgium, and Canada to develop products, relationships, and sources.

At Keystone Franklin Inc., Bruce developed an international partnership with an Israeli company to produced a new line of showerheads. This was done at no cost for product development or tooling in exchange for the manufacturer's exclusive right to sell in Europe. The cost of development and tooling was in excess of one million dollars - a significant number for a $30 million company.

Also while at Keystone Franklin, Bruce led an effort to develop a new product line with a Chinese manufacturer. This product led to the company securing Lowe’s as a customer thereby adding over 10% to the company’s sales.

In addition to those countries and companies mentioned above, Bruce has worked with and developed relationships with companies in India, France, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Germany.

International and Domestic Partnerships

Bruce led the product development effort at Ginsey Industries Inc and had major success with the development of an entire line of plastic toilet seats. He partnered with a one billion dollar international company looking to fill excess capacity at a US based plant. The product line, the development of the product and the tooling to produce the product were done at NO cost to Ginsey.

Bruce developed new relationships and partnerships with companies in Korea and Malaysia that gave Ginsey exclusive rights to their products and added 25% to the sales of the company.

At Keystone Franklin Inc., Bruce developed relationships with domestic vendors and partners that led to an annual cost saving in excess of one million dollars for a $35 million dollar company. In most cases, there were product quality and productivity enhancements in addition to cost savings.

His team defined and disposed of over $10 million in excess inventory. Bruce wrote the first comprehensive physical inventory procedure that improved the accuracy of the process by over 80%.

While at Keystone Franklin, he was instrumental in developing the first computer based planning system for the company, moving away from a manual entry process. Later he was the project team leader for the implementation of MAPICS (Manufacturing, Accounting and Production Information Control System) software. He also led the effort to set-up a national network of 3PL Systems warehouses to support the expansion of the company and improve customer service through local distribution.

Bruce led the effort to interface with major retailers - Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Kmart, Do-It Best and others - to insure that Keystone met or exceeded their requirements. Bruce continued to work with these companies after joining Ginsey Industries in 1992. While there, he developed the first planning system for the company that led to an improved inventory turnover as well as better customer service.
